This morning I’m awoken by Isabelle, my assistant, who reports that Tortimer, the former mayor of Electro, is visiting. I’m still going about my mayoral duties with milk teeth and yet the previous mayor – of some ten years, no less – wants to meet with me. To say that I’m intending on handling this cautiously is an understatement, but the fact that yesterday’s mingling has shot my approval rating straight up to the necessary 100 points gives me confidence. This morning, however, I must meet with this Phil and assess his plans before I make any brash moves. Read More…

Electronic Theatre ImageStreets of Rage is a classic. Very few would dispute this and even fewer would be able to present appropriate grounds for doing so. SEGA’s Mega-Drive console played host to many innovations, but in Streets of Rage it found itself propelling an entire genre forward in one fell swoop.

I awake to find my house built in record time, and upon exiting I see that Phil’s house has also been built overnight. No time like the present, I rush to town hall in an attempt to pre-empt any possible action from the rightful mayor. A new flag, a new town theme and mingling with the locals; I’m doing my best to look mayoral in the situation, but am constantly cautious about Phil’s awakening. It’s still very early, so I’m far from certain what his intentions are. Read More…

Electronic Theatre ImageThere’s no denying that the original reveal of the Xbox One console may not have worked out quite as Microsoft Studios had planned. Discussing what are seen as the supplementary features ahead of videogames was never going to be a smart move as far as the vocal minority are concerned, and while this may not have dampened the demand for the system amongst the mass market it hadn’t done the reputation of the console any favours. Today’s media briefing however, has changed all of this.
