Gamers are getting their stockings ready for the Christmas season. There are a lot of exciting new video games to be released in November and December. Given that we’re all cutting costs and saving up here and there, most of us will have to settle for one videogame this Christmas.
But which? It can be a hard decision to make, given the range of new gaming experiences about to go on release. Before you sell your stuff, you might want to peruse this list of what we think are going to be the biggest games this Christmas.
Far Cry 3
The third instalment in the Far Cryseries is going to be explosively action-packed. Taking place on a handful of islands in the Indian Ocean, the goal of the player is to escape the island and the psychotic, crazed inhabitants that live there. The videogame’s developers have stated that they intend Far Cry 3 to be the best so far in the series. It will have a constant sense of realistic danger in addition to the high-octane action sequences all set in an unique open-world.
Agent 47’s tortured and insane journey is continued in the recently released Hitman sequel. The previous videogames in the series were universally acclaimed for
their stealth-based third person shooter design. Keith Carradine of *Deadwood* fame has voiced the videogame’s new antagonist, Blake Dexter and Powers Boothe has also lent his voice to the vdeogame. Hitman: Absolution is hyped as one of the best stealth adventures of the year, so it might be time to sell some unwanted videogames to save up some money for it.
Zombies have enjoyed a hallowed place in all kinds of entertainment – they just never seem to die! ZombiU is being touted as one of the launch titles for Nintendo’s upcoming next-generation console, the Wii U, aimed at the more mature gamer. Set in London, the player must survive a zombie infestation. The vieogame is looking set to be both fun and scary, using the new Wii U GamePad to perform actions such as assisting other characters.
Battlefield 3: Aftermath
Technically not a new videogame, fans will nevertheless be anticipating the new maps for Battlefield 3 with great expectations. This new multiplayer expansion features the addition of a brand new weapon, the flexible crossbow, as well as new vehicles and character skins.
This is something completely fresh: a videogame about controlling a mech for battle set in a free-to-play production. The developers are trying to offer gamers the intense experience of piloting a massive robot while unleashing devastating, fast-paced action as well as strategy.
