Jason Holtman, director of business development for Valve, makers of Steam and game titles, is confirmed as the opening keynote for the Evolve conference at this summer’s Develop in Brighton. Jason’s keynote – Everyone’s Business is Business – looks at how organisations can lay the foundation for better business decisions and better products by fostering a system in which traditional business functions are not artificially separated from the individuals who develop content and features.

A study conducted by researchers at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden has found that video games promote cooperation and encourage gamers to control aggression. The study sought to gauge which, if any, gamer behaviours could be attributed to their video game play and was published in the March edition of the International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning.
Bethesda Softworks, a ZeniMax Media company, recently announced that The Elder Scrolls Online, a massively multiplayer online (MMO) videogame set in the hugely popular The Elder Scrolls universe, is in development for PC and MAC formats. Following that first reveal comes the first teaser trailer for the videogame.
The latest screenshots to be revealed in the continuing series of Hitman: Absolution images, IO Interactive A/S, a Square Enix studio, follows yesterday’s release of the most revealing Hope News Times edition yet with the truth behind the mysterious shocking death of Gavin LeBlond. Hitman: Absolution is set for release later this year.

In spite of the recent run of bad publicity and terminated supply chains for the Game Group, UK retailers GAME and gamestation will receive supplies of the forthcoming The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – Enhanced Edition in time for launch. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – Enhanced Edition is set to be available for Xbox 360 next week, courtesy of Namco Bandai Partners UK.
Videogame designer Jane Jensen and composer Robert Holmes have announced the formation of Pinkerton Road, a new studio devoted to developing adventure videogames. The independent studio will use a unique “community supported gaming” model to make Jensen’s distinctive videogames available to subscribers, along with exclusive behind-the-scenes involvement in the videogames’ development. Pinkerton Road will be headquartered on the couple’s Pennsylvania farm.
Codemasters has announced that it has extended its partnership with Formula One World Championship Limited. In a further multi-year agreement, Codemasters will continue to develop and publish multiple Formula One titles for video game consoles, personal computers, mobile devices and online platforms.
