Illegal Videogame Downloads See 20% Rise

The BBC is today reporting that the videogame industry have seen a twenty percent rise in the illegal downloading of software in the past five years. The figure comes from research firm Envisional, and also suggests that the top five games from 2010 were pirated online almost a million times.

Digital Delivery to Overtake Boxed Games in 2015

More than half (57 per cent) of videogames professionals believe that digital sales will overtake boxed product sales by 2015 according to a survey of 1,000 industry execs carried out by London Games Conference. 16 per cent claim the switch will happen within a year; 39 per cent during 2013 and three quarters (76 per cent) before 2015 is over.

DeNA Co., Ltd. and Grasshopper Manufacture, Inc. announced today that the companies will form a joint venture company, provisionally named Grasshopper Social Network Service, Inc.
