In the course of the multi-staged release of the second chapter of Runes of Magic, “The Elven Prophecy”, Frogster will publish an additional content update next week. In conjunction with the Aotulia Volcano zone, the publisher is adding the Cave of the Water Dragon into the live version of the fantasy game world. The new dungeon offers groups of up to six players at the level cap of 55 to experience a fresh setting with new challenges and treasure.
Following the announcement of the release of six new games in October and November earlier this month, Iceberg Interactive has revealed a brand new competition. Adam’s Venture is set to be the first game to be released, on October 2nd, and so this week Iceberg Interactive will be giving away three copies of the game.
Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that Battlefield Heroes, the hit Play4Free Third-Person Shooter has recruited two million registered players. With endless hours of signature Battlefield sandbox action, Battlefield Heroes is EA’s latest web-based free to download, free-to-play title which generates revenue through advertising and in-game item sales. To celebrate this milestone, on September 30th, EA will release a free ‘Heroes of the Fall’ update for the game, including a brand new map.

Frogster Unteractive have today revealed a brand new Player Vs Player (PvP) mode for the hugely successful free-to-play Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) Runes of Magic. Two teams, two fortresses and one goal: to despatch hordes of monsters at your opponent until their fortress is levelled. The best means by which to do this: Towers in different variants and configuration levels. The familiar ‘Tower Defense’ mode found in many strategy titles is now available in Runes of Magic, under the name ‘The Visdun Fortress’.
Telltale Games has announced that Liz Johnston of British Columbia, Canada is the winner of the Tales of Monkey Island “Designer for the Day” contest. The worldwide contest attracted more than 4,400 entries and gave fans the chance to write a line of dialogue for the fourth game of the five month long Tales of Monkey Island episodic series.

Premier videogame publisher Iceberg Interactive has announced that the retail version of the critically acclaimed PC Fighting game Zeno Clash has gone gold. The retail version will ship with the Zeno Clash comic plus all available updates for the game and will be released in the UK, Scandinavia and the Benelux in October 2009 with other European territories to follow soon after.
SEGA Europe Ltd. and The Creative Assembly have today announce that Empire: Total War is set to expand with The Warpath Campaign. This expansion pack will be exclusively available through Steam in October 2009.
The PC demo of Need for Speed SHIFT is now available for download at www.needforspeed.com. Players will prove their racing prowess on the world-famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and gorgeous city circuit of London River using one of four unlocked cars.
