The forthcoming LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is perhaps on of the most highly-anticipated family videogame releases set to launch this winter. Familiarity is both a blessing and a curse for many when considering the LEGO franchise videogames, but while the core videogame demographic may have become bored with the coin collecting platform antics of the series, there’s no denying that the family audience will readily lap it up. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.

With the London 2012 Olympics rapidly approaching its time for another edition of the Mario & Sonic franchise from SEGA, with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It was inevitable that SEGA would be doing an update to the previous editions, as the Beijing and the Winter editions both proved extremely popular, but can SEGA bring new life to this waggle fest?
Now many of you will instantly read the title and assume Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure is another cheap and cheerful Spyro game for kids to enjoy, and not much more than that. Given the recent history of the Spyro the Dragon franchise you’d not be criticised for taking such a stance, but in fact you’d be very wrong. Yes, that lovable purple dragon does feature in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, but it’s not solely about the cute fire breathing mythological beast, you can choose to be other characters and will need to in order to complete this new adventure from Activision.
