There are a great number of Massively Multiplayer Online games out there these days covering many different settings? Who plays them and which do you play?
9 February, 2013 at 12:44 am #32623I used to play WoW but i gave it up because it is evil! Nah its a great game but it just eats time and your life with it. Currently i’m playing no MMOs per se, the main online game i am playing at the moment is Mechwarrior Online. I would reccomend it if you have been a fan of the series before, be careful though. Its got a steep learning curve
16 February, 2013 at 6:05 pm #32944I like the idea of this merger between browser and MMO gaming. I know it started with games like Farmville (roll of eyes!) but things like The Settlers Online and (hopefully) Anno are bringing some great new ideas to the browser platform. I can honestly see browser MMOs replacing client based games within a couple of years.
Didn’t Runes of Magic launch a ‘lite’ version playable in a browser some time ago?
17 February, 2013 at 9:49 pm #33042They did indeed DiggDup. There’s an article about it here. I would go so far as to say that browser MMO’s will become the norm soon enough.
18 February, 2013 at 12:06 pm #33065I’m sure you’re right l.m.h, the technology is certianly moving that way.
19 February, 2013 at 7:52 pm #33143I dabbled with Runescape and Tera and a few others in the past. Not currently playing any MMOs. At the moment I’m preferring more personal experiences like Total War but that may change.
23 February, 2013 at 1:56 pm #33440RuneScape was always considered the pioneer in the space, but I think Jagex lost their way. It’s not really innovated for at least five or six years, but they have other projects (like the upcoming Transformers) that look far superior.
But then, Runescape is still horrendously popualr. If it ain’t broke dont fix it!
11 March, 2013 at 11:13 pm #34093Has anyone looked into Dragon’s Prophet yet? We’ve put together a small amount of coverage thus far and it’s been quite popular. I’m keen to see what it can offer the MMO space that hasn’t been done before.
12 March, 2013 at 10:27 pm #34159Liking your coverage so far, but that’s all I’ve seen.
13 March, 2013 at 9:22 pm #34174I like the idea of being able to choose your starting point in Dragon’s Prophet. If you haven’t already read about it here.
2 April, 2013 at 6:22 pm #35394Had a quick read through, sounds interesting. But i can’t give my life to another MMO. I just can’t!! If anyone has more information about it please share
11 April, 2013 at 11:56 am #35810I’ve read quite a few bits of your Dragon’s Prophet coverage so far, but I can’t help but feel the PR campaign is in the wrong order! They seem to be singing and dancing about the stuff we’ve all seen 1000 times before, while that new stuff – the shared zones etc. – is kind of pushed aside.
It’s in beta now right? Can we get keys or would that be too much to ask?
