Haha! I think the subject header may be going a bit far, but you’ve got a point. PC gaming is pushing ahead of console capabilities right now, but with the arrival of new hardware we’ll see systems that outrank average PC set-ups for half the price.

Maybe we can get some PC gamers in here to argue the point, but right now if finances are a consideration for 2013 you’ll surely be leaning towards a next-generation console than a gaming PC.

I don’t believe PC Gaming is dead. There are many factors which make people choose to play console over PC, the main one in my opinion being that people don’t like the idea that they will have to upgrade their PC “all the time” to keep it up to scratch.

While this may be partly true my PC has been pretty much untouched in 3 to 4 years, save from a new GPU because the last one blew up. And it is still more reliable than either a PS3 or and Xbox360.

Also if you are a PC gamer, just use Steam. The prices of games on there is ridiculous. Then all of the money you save you can put into upgrading your PC when it needs it, rather than spending £50 on a brand new game i can pick it up for under £30 almost guarenteed.

PC gaming requires more patience and will than a console gamer, but I wouldn’t ever say that i would give up, or say that it is a dead platform for gaming.

Oh and Red. How can it be half the price of free? My PC is already here, it works and i don’t have to buy another one when the PS4 comes out because…….it’ll still be a PC! So if you can get a free PS4 go for it, if not whats the point. Lol.

What about MMO’s? World of Warcraft has over 10 million registered subscribers.

PC gaming is NOT dead. I don’t even own another current generation console. Many new releases are available for PC, if no one were buying them they wouldn’t bother releasing them would they?!

The title of this topic is harsh but I have to say that I don’t know any PC gamers anymore, it’s all about the consoles in my group.

@Hellboy561 if you buy a PC now compared to buying a PS4 the PC will be twice as much to get the same spec. If you have a PC you only need to upgarde but you needed to buy the PC first!

I understand, but you can almost guarantee that the PS4 and the new xbox will be just as badly built as the last ones. They will break and have to be replaced. So far my PC has cost me the equivilent of buying 3 1/2 brand new xboxs (£700) Yeah it is a bit out of date now, but only one thing has broken on it, and it was fixed within 2 days and has ran fine ever since.

If you know how to work a PC then PC gaming is not dead. If you don’t, get a console as they are PCs designed to be used by people who don’t like to think about upgrading and worrying that it might break. But if it does you can fix it! Thats the beauty of a PC over a console.

That is why they will never die out.

Oh and Developers make games on PCs, so they kinda need to exist :P
