In a question and answer session with the press earlier this morning, Ian Livingstone discussed the current state of the videogames industry, and the position of Eidos within. Talking about the future of the UK publisher, many interesting titles were bought into the discussion, not least that of Deus Ex 3.
Questioned about his own interest in Role-Playing Games (RPGs), and the possibility of Eidos investing in an expansive open-world title akin to Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and FallOut 3, Livingstone stated that Deus Ex 3 represented just such an opportunity for the publisher.
“Looking at Deus Ex we have a shot at making a pretty
good RPG,” Livingstone commented, before continuing to state that it was a series they were very concerned with honouring the heritage of, and that the would be no rush to market for the game, flatly stating, “It’ll be ready when it’s ready”.
Livingstone also discussed current project Batman: Arkham Asylum and Mini Ninjas, as well as the forthcoming Just Cause 2. Electronic Theatre will bring you full details on his thoughts about the future of the videogames industry and all these titles soon.
