A report by international news organisation Reuters has confirmed a 2010 release date for the highly anticipated sequel to 2008’s Dead Space on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is reported to be in development at Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts studio, alongside Dante’s Inferno, also due for release next year.

            The original Dead Space released last year to unexpected critical acclaim, with your own Electronic Theatre stating in our in-depth review that “Dead Space is a remarkable feat of videogame engineering.” A Wii exclusive prequel, Dead Space Extraction, recently launched and has also been met with praise fro the industry.

Dead Space 2 was confirmed to be in development by a job advertisement earlier this month, revealing the Science-Fiction Horror sequel is currently in pre-production for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
