Today Nintendo announced the launch of the latest title in the Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training series, A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Arts Edition, available across Europe on Nintendo DSiWare from tomorrow, 23rd October 2009.
Following the world-wide success of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training and More Brain Training with Dr. Kawashima on Nintendo DS, selling over 31.1 million units globally, the software is now available in two different versions on Nintendo DSiWare: A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Arts Edition and A Little Bit of...Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Maths Edition, which launched earlier in 2009.
Both games include exercises from the original Dr. Kawashima's Brain
Training series and also exciting new additions, each tailored around a different theme: words, pictures and music in the Arts Edition, and number-based exercises in the Maths Edition.
Completely new to the A Little Bit of... Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training series is the Themes section which makes extensive use of the Nintendo DSi features including the camera and microphone. In contrast to the rest of the game, the player does not need to react, draw or read as fast as they can, but complete tasks in which they can take time to act a scene, play the role of a voice actor or draw pictures like an illustrator. As these exercises don't count towards the user's Brain Age score, they can be used for entertaining and relaxing.
As well as many classic features like the Brain Age Check and Germ Buster, A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Arts Edition also includes three new training exercises: Photo Memory, Word Buster and Card Memory. In Photo Memory, the player is shown a series
of pictures, and must remember the picture that came previously in the sequence. Pictures from the Nintendo DSi Camera Album may also be included.
In Word Buster, words briefly flash on the screen, which the player must memorise and write on the Touch Screen quickly and correctly. In Card Memory, players must memorise different business cards and must answer questions on the owners' faces, names and jobs. The software also includes the new Friends & Family mode, in which other users can train their brain, save the data and then share their results with family and friends.
A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Arts Edition will be available to download on Nintendo DSiWare from 23rd October for 800 Nintendo DSi Points, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest on the Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training series.
