Kalypso Media today announced the upcoming release of Reign of Augustus, the official expansion pack for the hit PC title Grand Ages: Rome. Available from January 2010 as a downloadable expansion, Reign of Augustus will include a brand new campaign comprising of twelve missions, new maps and a wealth of enhanced gameplay features.
Grand Ages: Rome was well received upon it’s initial release back in March, and has since developed a strong following of loyal fans. As the spiritual successor to Imperium Romanum, Haemimont Games – developer of the recently released Tropico 3 – created a balanced and well presented Strategy game, in which players could rise to rule the land by force, or find themselves with riotous civilians unhappy with their quest for continued dominance while neglecting the everyday needs of their people. Electronic Theatre delivered an in-depth review of Grand Ages: Rome upon release, stating that the game presented “ideas for the future of the genre whilst maintaining a wholly enjoyable gameplay experience.”
Reign of Augustus will add to that experience, not only with the aforementioned missions and maps, but also by adding four new buildings - Senate, Tax Office, Odeum and Hospital – but also by further adding to the Estate Bonuses, family talents and proposing three new patrons.
Kalypso Media will offer Reign of Augustus via digital distribution, with the current outlets unknown but expected to arrive at al the usual destinations, with a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of £19.99. Reign of Augustus will not be published at retail, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.
