A new report published this morning suggested that both Microsoft Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) were intending on revealing their next-generation videogame consoles at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), taking place in Los Angeles this June. However, when approached for comment, neither of the hardware manufacturers was willing go on record confirming the reveal, or indeed the new consoles themselves.
Following this morning’s report, Electronic Theatre contacted Microsoft Studios with regards to a confirmation of the reveal. As would be expected, a representative of the platform holder simply stated “Microsoft doesn’t comment on rumour or speculation.”
A report by UK gaming publication CVG this morning took things one stage further, suggesting that Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, laughed at the idea of a new PlayStation home console. In response to the suggestion of a forthcoming PlayStation 4 announced, Yoshida simply stated: “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
Of course, it would be foolish for either company to confirm the existence of a new system prior to an official announcement, and so it’s unlikely that a simple e-mail would convince the international publishers to leak their secrets. However, more is expected to be revealed in the near future, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.

Gaming News 24/7

I have owned every console in the U.S at lanuch from atari 2600, to jaguar, up to 360 wii, and ps3, 3ds etc. This would be a death sentence to release this next year. It would have to be the most amazing thing ever, literally virtual reality in your living room type sh*t. For me to even consider dropping another 500 to a 1000 dollars into a system. psvita, wii u. My ps3 is enough for me and xbox too if they release better non shooter games. I have 3d too and that is awesome i can see why MS wants to push it now, if that’s what they think they need a new system. But still these systems are packaged at 250. Maybe they do release new systems and 600 is the asking price. It better be incredible because this guy’s not buying.
