Electronic Arts’ sports label, EA SPORTS, has today begun issuing an official warning to their registered users regarding the upcoming launches of FIFA Street and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. Billed as a ‘launch update’, the communication is a reaction to the stock crisis currently being suffered by UK videogames specialist retailer, GAME.
It’s now widely known amongst the core videogames audience that GAME is in a very real amount of trouble, and that many high streets in the UK may soon lose another important facility. However, in the meantime the retailer is struggling to court their long time allies – the publishers – with a lack of confidence resulting in many titles not being stocked at launch or. in the case of Electronic Arts, at all. The two upcoming titles from EA SPORTS, FIFA Street and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, will apparently suffer this fate also.
EA SPORTS’ carefully worded communication essentially informs their audience that they must re-order from another retailer, providing a full list of outlets that will be stocking the videogames and providing pre-order incentives. FIFA Street will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from Friday, 16th March 2012, and
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 will launch for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from Friday, 30th March 2012. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with both titles, and the future of the working relationship between Electronic Arts and GAME.
