As part of the developer’s presentation at the ongoing Gamescom event, taking place in Cologne this week, Grasshopper Manufacture has revealed yet another forthcoming project. Currently in development alongside the charismatic Lollipop Chainsaw, Black Knight Sword is a joint project with Digital Reality, and is set to hit Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network next year.
A 2D Platform game, Black Knight Sword is a side-scrolling adventure that has reportedly been inspired by Konami’s long-running CastleVania series. The game features a picturebook style visual quality inspired by traditional Japanese theatre. Little else is currently known about the game, though the influence of Digital Reality is said to have added a European flavour to the typically quirky Grasshopper Manufacture design.
Black Knight Sword is currently expected to launch in early 2012 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, via Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network respectively. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Black Knight Sword, and other forthcoming titles from Grasshopper Manufacture.
