Thumbstar Games has announced a deal with Urbanscan Ltd. that will see a number of classic Gremlin titles given a new lease of life. Chief among the franchises set to receive a re-release are the cult classics Bounder and ZOOL, launching alongside some brand new intellectual properties (IPs) imminently on iOS and Android, smartphone and tablet devices.
Urbanscan, established by industry veteran Ian Stewart, plans to also reinvigorate the Premier Manager franchise with an up-to-date edition of the much-loved videogame series, which was first released twenty years ago. This new edition has been fully optimised, and developed, specifically for smartphone and tablet experiences. In addition,
other titles to be released in the near future are colourful action puzzle title Gem Smashers, a re-imagined version of an 8-bit classic, Bounders World, and social puzzle creator JigAPix.
Of the partnership, Gareth Edmondson, CEO of Thumbstar Games commented “It’s fantastic to be working with Urbanscan. No release dates have yet been announced for any of the titles named in the agreement, however Thumbstar Games are developing a reputation for bringing projects to market in remarkable timeframes.
