Electronic Theatre ImageTransport Tycoon, Chris Sawyer’s legendary simulation management videogame, has arrived on mobile platforms today. Launching worldwide in the App Store and Google Play, the title that propelled a generation of ‘tycoon’ videogames nearly twenty years ago has been recreated specifically for mobile devices.

In Transport Tycoon, players become entrepreneurs in control of a transport company, competing against rivals to make as much profit as possible by transporting passengers and various goods by road, rail, sea and air. To build an empire, players construct transportation routes consisting of stations near industries or towns, each often utilizing different methods of transportation such as trains, ships, airplanes, trucks and more. A number of factors determine a player’s success including efficiency at Electronic Theatre Imagemoving goods from one station to another and therefore earning higher ratings, picking up resources or passengers and delivering them to where there is demand, and time, distance and quantity of goods delivered.

The new mobile edition of Transport Tycoon has been designed and directed by designer Chris Sawyer, the original creator of Transport Tycoon, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and the Rollercoaster Tycoon series. Working closely with Sawyer, Origin8 Technologies have recreated and restored the original simulation code to produce a uniquely rich mobile videogame.

Transport Tycoon, developed by Origin8 Technologies under Sawyer’s direction, is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android phones and tablets for £4.99 GBP beginning today. Transport Tycoon will also soon be available on Amazon and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.
