The widely respected team at CAVE has today launched two new additions to the Google Play line-up for Android devices; the critically acclaimed Espgaluda II and Dodonpachi Resurrection. Both titles are available to download now with a reduced price for a limited time only.
Espgaluda II is the sequel to CAVE’s well-known arcade shooter Espgaluda, originally released in arcade in 2005. The fantasy world and its distinct cast of characters made Espgaluda II a smash hit upon it’s debut, leading to the Japan-only launch of Espgaluda II Black Label for Xbox 360 in February 2010, and April 2010’s launch of Espgaluda II marked the developer’s first title for iPhone and iPod touch.
Dodonpachi Resurrection is CAVE’s 2008 smash hit arcade shooter, and sequel to the legendary Dodonpachi Daioujou. While maintaining the basic mechanics of traditional scrolling shoot-‘em-ups, additional systems like the Hyper Counter that negates enemies’ bullets by shooting the bullet or the Counter Laser that repels enemy’s laser by shooting the laser, have been cited as fan favourites even to this day. In August 2010, Dodonpachi Resurrection for iPhone and iPod touch achieved over 30,000 downloads in just four days after its release to take the No. 1 sales spot at the Japanese AppStore for paid applications.
Both Espgaluda II and Dodonpachi Resurrection are available to download for Android devices now, presented as conversions from their original iOS releases. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on CAVE’s international line-up.
