Microsoft Studios has today launched a new marketing campaign for the Windows Phone 7 operating system in Europe, featuring Xbox LIVE as the most prominent asset in the first trailer. While the publisher has used the immediacy of Xbox LIVE on the mobile format as a selling point to gamers previously, this is the first time we’ve seen gaming on the mobile format pushed so heavily.
The trailer, though only available in French at present, is obvious in its intention. Showcasing the Xbox LIVE functionality in many different ways, from use of the Gamertag and viewing Achievements to launching videogame software. Two videogame titles are featured in the trailer, the popular Fruit Ninja and Kinectimals titles – arguably odd choices, given that both titles are also available on iOS devices, albeit with the Xbox LIVE functionality removed. The new trailer follows below, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Xbox LIVE functionality of Windows Phone 7 devices.
