Nintendo has today launched the Wii Sports Club programme for Wii U. Following in the footsteps of last week’s Wii Fit U, Wii Sports Club can be played via the use of a time period purchase, but it can also be purchased as individual components of a bigger package.

Also available this week are Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games and Batman: Arkham Origins, both at retail and via the Nintendo eShop. The hugely popular Pikmin 3 also gets a boost today with the launch of a new downloadable content (DLC) package. The details on these and all other new releases on the Nintendo eShop follow below, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest additions to Nintendo’s digital distribution channels.

Game Description: The   five beloved sports from the original Wii Sports – bowling, tennis, baseball,   boxing and golf – make a dramatic and competitive return on Wii U! The games   are being released individually as downloads featuring HD graphics, enhanced   controls via Wii MotionPlus technology, as well as a much-requested online   multiplayer versus mode.

Tennis and Bowling will be the first   two sports available from Nintendo eShop on 7th November, with   Boxing, Baseball and Golf scheduled to launch in the months ahead. Wii U   owners who download Wii Sports Club will get a trial pass that will let them   play any available games for a 24-hour period from when the Wii Sports Club   game is started.

Once the trial period ends, players can   purchase a Day Pass on Nintendo eShop   for £1.79 to play all available sports for a 24-hour period, or can buy   permanent access to individual sports (Single-Sport Pass) for £8.99 each.

Internet connection is required during   the play to use the Day Pass. The registration of   Nintendo Network ID and acceptance of the Nintendo Network Agreement and   Privacy Policy are required.
