Today, UK development studio Xitol Softworks has come out of the woodwork with their debut project, Zone: The Battleground. Releasing the first official concept art from the forthcoming videogame, Xitol Softworks are keen to establish the Zone universe as fertile ground for many videogame exploits.
Originally founded in 2007 as a mod team for Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 on PC, and later as a community for Halo 3, Xitol Softworks has evolved from a small gaming community into an independent videogame development team focusing on both challenging and innovative household and mobile games and applications. Xitol Softworks’ projects are spread across a variety of platforms including, but not limited to, PC, Windows Phone 7 and iOS.
The first project from the team, Zone: The Battleground, is a multiplayer focused videogame set to establish the Zone universe created by Xitol Softworks Ltd. Built using the Unreal Development Kit, Zone: The Battleground brings intense action to both your PC and Mac. Xitol Softworks promise that gamers will not be disappointed with the vast amount of customisation and fun Zone: The Battleground has to bring to their computers.
Zone: The Battleground is currently scheduled to be released in mid to late 2012, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on this and other projects from Xitol Softworks.
