Croteam and Devolver Digital have today launched the highly anticipated Serious Sam 3: BFE, available now as a digitally distributed release. While gamers have been able to pre-load Serious Sam 3: BFE for some time, it was only at 6PM (GMT) that the videogame became active, and players could once again step into the huge boots of Sam ‘Serious’ Stone.
Serious Sam 3: BFE is the antithesis of the modern first-person shooter (FPS) experience, concerned less with mission objectives and stealth gameplay, and more with blowing stuff up. Electronic Theatre delivered a series of hands-on previews of Serious Sam 3: BFE prior to release, deeming the videogame: “an engrossing challenge.”
Prior to release Electronic Theatre also stated that, “if it’s not already on your watchlist, it most certainly should be by now.” And with today’s release, gamers can decide for themselves whether Serious Sam 3: BFE looks back at the decade of gaming heritage with aplomb, or whether it’s about to go down in history in the same unfortunate manner as 3D Realms’ Duke Nukem Forever. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Serious Sam 3: BFE, including an in-depth review coming very soon.
