Gala Networks Europe has announced that development has started on its latest large-scale massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Age of Wulin. Still in the early stages of adaptation and localisation for the west, Age of Wulin places players in the heart of the Chinese Wuxia legend. Age of Wulin will take players back into ancient Chinese history, where they will be immersed in traditional daily life during a period when martial arts culture was at its peak.
Set during the Ming Dynasty, around the year 1370 players can visit the Shaolin temple, the old city of Beijing or the Great Wall of China. The game features a free world with no character level, classes or weapons restrictions. Progression is oriented around learning and developing kung fu skills. Players are free to join one of the eight schools for eight unique combat styles, and change weapon and school anytime to create their own Kung fu master. Special gravity-defying moves including water-gliding, running vertically along walls and flying across rooftops.
Age of Wulin will be available in English, French and German in 2012 from the gPotato.eu portal. The closed beta is expected to launch later this year. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest about Age of Wulin and any future releases from Gala Networks Europe.
