Today sees the unveiling of brand new details on the recently revealed Dead Island: Riptide, the successor to the hugely popular Dead Island. In addition to the detailed preview Electronic Theatre will deliver later today Deep Silver has already confirmed one of the most important aspects of Dead Island: Riptide: the ability to transfer your established characters from the original videogame into the sequel.
The development team at Techland are well aware of their audience’s demands, and as such have built Dead Island: Riptide will the idea that players will want to use the new release as an expansion to the previous adventure. All players will be able to import their existing Dead Island characters, regardless of the amount of the original title they had completed or the level they had reached. Dead Island: Riptide will support expanded skill trees and weapon customisation, allowing players to push their characters even further, however no mention has yet been made on whether they will be able to play the original title with these characters once the import has been completed.
Dead Island: Riptide is currently expected to be available next year, launching simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Dead Island franchise, including a preview of this sequel coming later today.
