Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recently re-launched the PC version of Gotham City Impostors as s free-to-play videogame, available for download at no cost via Steam. Understandably, those who had already purchased the original release where less than pleased, but the publisher has something up their sleeves to appease those early adopters.
Those who download the Gotham City Impostors free-to-play via the Steam client will have access to the original videogame, as well as all downloadable content (DLC) packs, which includes new maps, weapons, mascots and more. Players will also experience join-in-progress matchmaking that ensures gamers are placed into populated matches. The videogame features a level system in which players earn XP by performing well in matches – based on kills, assists etc. – and those who have been active participants of the original PC release since prior to the change of financial direction will receive a free redemption code for double XP. However, unlike the time limited XP boosts purchasable by all players, this limited edition add-on is permanent, offering a free double XP boost for life.
Developed by Monolith Productions and previously released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in February 2012, Gotham City Impostors allows up to twelve players to battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Gotham City Impostors videogame and future Batman themed releases from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
