505 Games revealed last year that they would be bringing Ashes Cricket 2013 to videogame systems, and now we have confirmation of a release date. Currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC, Ashes Cricket 2013 will be made available this summer.
Celebrating the most intense and long standing international test cricket rivalry, the videogame launches in time for the unique double header Ashes Series that takes place in England and then a few months later in Australia. 505 Games are capitalising on this international competitiveness with a competition of their own, designed exclusively for non-professional Cricket teams, offering them the chance to be built into the game by the developers.
The ongoing competition will be drawing to a close soon, but amateur players still have the chance to be features in the videogame. Photos of the winning team and their home ground will be used by the developers to build the teams and home ground into the videogame, and their team (along with their likenesses) will be a playable in the final release version. The competition closes on 19th February 2013, which means teams have just one day to enter. UK teams need to go to here http://bit.ly/ASHESUK for more details, while Australian teams should visit http://bit.ly/ASHESAUS.
Ashes Cricket 2013, currently in development at Melbourne-based cricket specialists Trickstar Games, promises the most authentic cricket experience to date and boasts exclusive licenses from both The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA). Ashes Cricket 2013 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on 21st June 2013, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.
