Minority Media has today launched its imaginative adventure hit Papo & Yo on PC, available to download now via Steam. Previously available only on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3, Papo & Yo has received a number of updates and improvements for its PC release.
Papo & Yo tells the story of a young boy named Quico and his brutish, mostly-friendly pal named Monster, whose most threatening feature is not his set of razor-sharp teeth, but his addiction to poisonous frogs. After devouring one, Monster catapults into a violent rampage from which no one, not even Quico, is safe. As Quico, players must navigate a magical, imagination-fuelled world to save their beastly companion from the biggest danger of all: himself.
“My goal with Papo & Yo was to tell my own personal story, but in a way that anyone, whether or not they had a similar childhood, could have an emotional experience through a videogame,” said Vander Caballero, Minority Creative Director. “When we started, we had no idea what would happen. But after [Papo & Yo] finally came out, we got so much positive feedback that we knew Minority needed to continue to bring these experiences to as many people as possible, starting with [Papo & Yo] coming to Steam, and beyond, through new stories in new games.”
Available to download via Steam from today, the expectation is that Papo & Yo will be announced for additional formats in the near future. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Papo & Yo and other titles from Minority Media.
