Microprose, together with publisher Atari, Inc., have announced that the PC edition of Special Forces: Team X is now sale. This temporary price drop will last for one week, after which Special Forces: Team X will be permanently available at a fixed price.
Launched in February, Special Forces: Team X is a fast-paced tactical third-person cover based shooter with a twist. By throwing customisation fully into players’ hands with its real time map selection system, the battlefield is divided into three distinct areas, with the layout of each determined by the teams in the pre-game lobby. Over one hundred possible combinations give every match a unique look and feel, for a constant tactical challenge.
The videogame also features five multiplayer modes that include new gameplay types like Hot Zone and High Value Target and asymmetrical gameplay supporting two, three or even four teams.
In a statement, Microprose said “Initially, the game launched with a bug that could randomly reset character XP under certain conditions, and we deeply apologize to any of our players that had to experience this. However, since then multiple patches have been released on Steam to address the issue and also to subtly alter the play mechanics based on customer feedback, which we believe now delivers a faster paced and smoother experience. We are hoping that this price drop will bring players into the game that may have been scared away by the initial launch problems.”
A Title Update for the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Special Forces: Team X is currently in the final stages of testing, though no price promotion has been announced for this version Special Forces: Team X is now available for the reduced price of £3.99 GBP and at the end of the sale week there will be a permanent price point of £7.99. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Special Forces: Team X.
