Square Enix today announced that one million users have signed up to take part in the beta test of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Set to launch next month, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for both Windows PC and PlayStation 3, with a PlayStation 4 launch to follow next year.
A massive-scale MMORPG true to the legendary franchise, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn features new and unique gameplay mechanics, such as the “Limit Break” system (originally introduced in Final Fantasy VII), the Armoury system which allows users to experience all of the classes in the game with a single character, and cross-platform gameplay between PC and PlayStation 3. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a realignment of the original Final Fantasy XIV Online, which was met with significant criticism upon its original launch.
Those who haven’t signed up to the Beta yet can still do so at the official Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn website, http://entry.ffxiv.com/beta/eu. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and other titles in the Final Fantasy franchise.
