Devolver Digital have partnered with Singapore-based developer General Arcade to release the definitive edition of 3D Realms’ 1997 cult classic shooter Shadow Warrior on Steam, with the new Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. Developer General Arcade and publisher Devolver Digital will continue to update both Shadow Warrior Classic Redux and the recently released Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition with new features, Steamworks-enabled online multiplayers, and Linux support.
Similar to the duo’s recent release of Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, this comprehensive Shadow Warrior collection includes a visually polished and upgraded Shadow Warrior Classic, the Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon expansion packs, the original version of the videogame, SteamPlay support for PC and Mac, Steam achievements, and Steam Cloud support. Additionally, owners of Shadow Warrior Classic Redux will receive a Steam coupon for the upcoming Shadow Warrior reboot by Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital when pre-purchase promotions start later on this summer.
“Our team is thrilled to be a part of the reintroduction of the Shadow Warrior series to gamers worldwide and share one of our favourite classic shooters,” said Gennadii Potapov, founding partner in developer General Arcade. “Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is something we’re very proud of and hope both longtime fans and gamers new to Shadow Warrior will enjoy the work we’ve put into remastering this classic.”
Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is available on Steam, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all things Shadow Warrior, including the Shadow Warrior reboot coming from Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog this autumn.
