Digital Extremes have been discussing the intended launch date for the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 edition of Warframe for some time, and today they have issued an official statement regarding the availability of the videogame. For three months starting at launch on 15th November 2013, in North America and 29th November in Europe, PlayStation 4 system owners will get first crack at being a space ninja.
“With how the industry is evolving, this really is the Player Generation,” said Steve Sinclair, creative director at Digital Extremes. “Games are reaching players hands in so many different ways now and Sony gets it, which is why we are bringing Warframe exclusively to the [PlayStation 4] first. There’s no reason not to download Warframe on day 1 if you’re an action game lover – it’s free!”
As a co-operative focused videogame that thrives on community and clan-building, Warframe will take full advantage of the social connectivity and community building features coming to the PlayStation 4 system. Some of the features involve the new enhanced DUAL SHOCK 4 controller that offers integrated audio, touch-pad controls and gameplay streaming capabilities. Additionally, second screen functionality will come in the form of an Android and iOS App called Warframe Nexus. This companion app will allow players to perform in-game tasks and provide pertinent real-time game info while away from the PlayStation 4 system such as alerts to critical missions, crafting and building inventory, and scheduling gaming sessions with friends just to name a few. Warframe will be available alongside the launch of the PlayStation 4 console and Electronic Theatre will bring you a hands-on preview of the highly anticipated release in the near future.
