Electronic Theatre ImageA British indie studio that is becoming known for their outlandish publicity stunts and quirky sense of humour, Cherry Pop Games is currently working hard to bring Pool Nation to PlayStation 4 under the guise of Pool Nation FX. While the idea of virtual pool may not be the most thrilling to many gamers, there’s no denying that physics based gameplay is set to experience a quantum leap on the next-generation of consoles. This, Cherry Pop Games assure, is not a simple port.

“We believe that this genre is a perfect fit for next-gen. Seriously! Pool Nation FX is not just a pool game its going to be the community’s pool game.” Stated a representative of Cherry Pop Games. “Pool Nation came out to rave reviews, which was great to hear because we really did put our all into it. Electronic Theatre ImageAs this is the first console launch for Sony in seven years we just knew we had to be a part of it, and so far it’s going great.”

Pool Nation did indeed garner significant acclaim, with your very own Electronic Theatre suggesting that the videogame ‘is the finest example of virtual pool on the PlayStation Network’ in our in-depth review of the PlayStation 3 version of the videogame. Pool Nation FX, recently confirmed as launching this November, hopes to replicate this success.

“There is 10 of us working on this release in one form or another, so its certainly all hands on deck in our office at the moment, but we are enjoying working with the new Electronic Theatre Imagehardware and it’s a great opportunity for indies.” Offers Cherry Pop Games.

Pool Nation FX is set to offer a clutch of new features when it arrives on PlayStation 4, including the much discussed Box of Tricks gameplay mode. As stated above, Cherry Pop Games are heading for a November launch with Pool Nation FX for PlayStation 4, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on this and other indie titles for the next-generation console.
