Square Enix Ltd. has today launched the opening beta test for the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. A free service that will allow players to switch from playing the videogame on the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4 has also been initiated today.
The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn videogame service is now live on Windows PC and the PlayStation 3, and the PlayStation 4 version is currently in development. Essential work to increase the number of servers and strengthen the service environment, the beta testing phase has the aim of alleviating the crowding on existing servers in preparation for the full PlayStation 4 launch
Furthermore, those who are currently playing the PlayStation 3version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will not have to re-buy the game on PlayStation 4 and will be able to transition to playing on PlayStation 4 at no additional cost. They will even be able to carry over their character data and continue playing on the new platform.
