Square Enix has today officially confirmed that Final Fantasy XII’s Vaan will feature as one of the characters in the upcoming Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy. A series of new screenshots has been released, showcasing some of his familiar abilities in battle.
Vaan is a cheerful youth who uses a variety of weapons in battle. Confident in his skills, he fearlessly enters any fight. His battle concept is called "Adroit Attacker," in which Vaan can 
switch between any of his many weapons instantly, giving him a wide selection of attacks to confuse his opponents. His initial attack after switching weapons is extremely powerful. The timing with which to change weapons is key to his success. He can use skills with defensive and offensive attributes while using a one-handed sword and shield. Like in Final Fantasy XII, Vaan can use his special "Quickening" attack.
