Electronic Theatre ImageHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) was shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to waiting fans of the Harry Potter phenomenon, in its present state I would actually consider it to be a bit of a disappointment.

The level which I played was set where the book started at the Quidditch world tournament, I couldElectronic Theatre Image tell with the tents, where it all goes awry and Voldemorts followers start causing chaos.

You play as Harry and have two other characters with you, following you with on-screen avatars. Unfortunately the characters appear so small on the screen I often couldn’t tell who was who. The screen was also very dark, ok the level I played happened at night, but things were quite indistinguishable and I felt I should be squinting at the screen (it didn’t help) which didn’t make towards a decent gaming experience, as so with the frustrating camera system, which seemed to find you eventually but it doesn’t seem to follow your movements at best. One can only hope these issues will be rectified for final presentation of the game.

The button configuration was confusing to say the least. Pressing a button to perform a certain action may result in something completely different on a second press. I would like to try playing this game again at some point, just because I feel the version shown in its current state needed a lot of work to it and don’t feel it gave justice to what may turn out in the finished title.   -END-
