Following our report earlier today that an announcement for the forthcoming PLAYSTATION 3 release of Downloadable Content (DLC) for Bethesda Softworks’ Fallout 3 would be coming soon, new information has been revealed this afternoon. Although lacking exact release dates, the update from Ashley Cheng, Production Director at Bethesda Softworks, reveals a change in that which was previously thought to be the strategy for release.
Over at the US Official PlayStation Blog, Cheng stated that although later than planned, each Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta would arrive in due course. However, not necessarily in that order. With the release suggested for the end of September, Broken Steel will in fact be the first DLC to be released on PS3. Operation Anchorage and The Pitt will be available shortly thereafter, possibly at the same time. Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta are suggested to be available soon after these releases, suggesting that the timed exclusivity the Xbox 360 benefited from with the first three packs may now have officially come to an end.
While there’s still no confirmation of an exact date, the update from Bethesda Softworks will undoubtedly be welcomed by PS3 owning Fallout 3 fans. Electronic Theatre will update you as soon as we have more news.
