Capcom has today launched the Capcom Arcade Cabinet, a new retro gaming platform available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Operating in a similar vein to Microsoft Studios’ own Game Room, Capcom will release 8-bit classics in a series of packs on a continuous secede from now until early May.
A total of fifteen titles from 1984-1988 are current set to be released on a staggered schedule and will be available to purchase either as a series of packs or individually, allowing players to choose what they want to buy. By purchasing all fifteen titles, either separately or together, players will gain access to two bonus titles absolutely free.
Game Pack 1 and the first individual title, Black Tiger, are both available now. Xbox 360 owners will be able to play through the videogame with a single credit before restarting. On the PlayStation 3, players will have unlimited credits effectively giving them the full videogame for free. Further additions are set to arrive for Capcom Arcade Cabinet in the coming weeks, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Capcom’s new retro gaming platform.
