Square Enix Ltd. has revealed the official English language version of the opening movie taken from the forthcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This epic CGI production by the legendary Visual Works studio of Square Enix purposefully poses several questions that will be answered during the rest of the videogame: Why is Lightning called the Savior, but seems to be taking souls? Why are those two characters fighting one another? And How is Lumina linked to the other characters and the situation?
The world of Nova Chrysalia has only thirteen days until total annihilation, with the citizens of four distinct regions each experiencing the end of the world in unique ways. In Yusnaan, the setting for this sequence, the inhabitants have a hedonistic frame of mind: if the world is going to be destroyed soon then why not go out in style? Against this background strides Lightning, a legendary warrior on a god-given mission to save the souls of mankind.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled for release in European and PAL markets on 14th February 2014, on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and other forthcoming titles from Square Enix.
