Hot from the official unveiling of the Xbox One console, new details about the next-generation of Microsoft hardware are still trickling through to Electronic Theatre. The latest comes in the form of new details on the Xbox Live Achievements system, wherein Microsoft Studios are inviting gamers to ‘unlock a new generation of achievements.’
Microsoft Studios have already revealed that the Xbox Live Achievements will receive a makeover on the next-generation of Xbox Live, but aside from the fact that they can continually evolve over time nothing concrete had been stated. Until now that is, as the hardware manufacturer has revealed that ‘achievements are no longer confined to a single game.’
Suggesting that the system may move to something resembling Ubisoft’s much lamented Uplay system, gamers can earn Achievements across all titles and experiences and monitor them via a new online portal that not only keeps track of what you earned, but how you earned it. Footage can be saved and uploaded for others to view, similarly to the PlayStation 4′s ‘Share’ function. Achievements can be earned in more ways than before as new ones can be added dynamically at any time. Further details on the future of the Xbox Live Achievements and their online portal will undoubtedly be revealed soon, and Electronic Theatre will of course keep you updated with all the latest details.
