Despite famously being a production of british studio Rare, it appears as though the forthcoming reboot of the Killer Instinct franchise. Killer Instinct was revealed as an Xbox One exclusive at Microsoft Studios’ press conference yesterday, and is expected to launch this winter.
Details on the new Killer Instinct are scarce at present, with only Jago and Sabrewulf offered as confirmed characters, and the inclusion of a Killer Instinct: Round One version with the Xbox One ‘Day One Edition’ package featuring Shadow Jago as an exclusive character. A single backdrop and the return of the instant switching of health bars after each round (later used by the critically acclaimed Mortal Kombat reboot) have also been revealed, but that’s as far as the details go.
Following this information however, comes the revelation that Killer Instinct is actually in production at Double Helix Games, a studio famous for working with existing intellectual properties. No further details are available on Killer Instinct for Xbox One, but Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.
