Tecmo Koei Europe has revealed the official box art design for the forthcoming Dead or Alive 5 today, in anticipation of its release this autumn. Dead or Alive 5 is currently in development for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated beat-‘em-up titles of the year.
While the Street Fighter series has returned to its 2D roots and both Virtua Fighter and Tekken seem content to simply roll out the same mechanics with a new coat of paint, Dead or Alive is the series aiming to push the genre into brand new territory. Electronic Theatre has had the opportunity to get hands-on with Dead or Alive 5 on numerous occasions, and each time it’s presented a more impressive attitude towards current-generation beat-‘em-up gameplay.
The official box art design for Dead or Alive 5 on PlayStation 3 can be seen below, with the Xbox 360 version to follow. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the videogame as it approaches its September release.
