Following the tenth anniversary of the Halo franchise and launch of the popular Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary this week, Microsoft Studios has revealed some interesting statistics about the series. Not only that, but also the performance of the Halo videogames and their fans on Xbox LIVE.
According to Microsoft Studios Halo fans spent 3,673,764.6 hours playing Halo in the last twelve months. On average, Xbox LIVE members have spent 37.4 hours engaged in Halo multiplayer gameplay modes. This includes all Halo videogames playable on Xbox LIVE, but is only monitored when playing online; gamers who play offline are not included in these statistics, so you could consider the overall statistics to be a certain amount higher than those reported above.
In addition to the above statistics, Microsoft Studios has revealed that, on average, Xbox LIVE members have subscribed to the service for 1.8 years. This figure is based on paid subscriptions only and does not include free memberships. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is available worldwide now, and is sure to bump up these statistics considerably while fans await the launch of Halo 4 in 2012.
