Electronic Theatre ImageTHQ have announced MotoGP ’06 for the Xbox360 has been delayed, and is now scheduled to release in May, 2006, in the UK. Presenting an unprecedented level of realism and sense of speed, this latest addition to the critically acclaimed MotoGP franchise also incorporates the very latest 2006 Race Season  information to create the most up-to-date and intensely realistic Racing game on the Xbox360.

Electronic Theatre Image“It’s exciting for us to present Xbox360 owners with the most exhilarating racing experience available and one that genuinely raises the bar of photo-realistic gaming,” said Pete Murphy, Global Brand Manager, THQ Inc. “The developer, Climax, has combined an unprecedented level of detail, sense of speed, and the very latest MotoGP Season content to create a game that will appeal to MotoGP fans as well as those gamers craving the most thrilling racing-experience on Xbox360.”

“The powerful technology within the Xbox360 has enabled us to create visual effects that surpass anything that we’ve seen in the racing genre to-date,” stated Jason Avent, Game Director, Climax. “The latest addition to our MotoGP franchise has seen a uniqueElectronic Theatre Image implementation of depth-of-field within the graphics engine that allows us to simulate different focal lengths. We’re extremely proud of the fact that ultimately, the screenshots will speak for themselves!”

While the delay is disappointing, THQ are clearly not prepared to release anything other than the best MotoGP title so far. With THQ’s reputation ever-increasing since 2004, and their promising line-up for 2006 – including The Outfit and Saint’s Row on Xbox360 – you can rest assured that this is one title that neither Climax, nor THQ will allow to fall onto retail shelves unnoticed.
