The release date for the highly-anticipated Halo 4 may have only been announced last night, but that hasn’t stopped major retailers jumping on the opportunity to promote their pre-order campaigns. First out of the gate is Sainsbury’s offering the videogame for just £37.99 GBP.

Halo 4 marks the return of legendary hero Master Chief, and aims to set a new standard for blockbuster interactive entertainment. Set four years after the events in Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Developed by 343 Industries, Halo 4 marks a new beginning for the landmark entertainment franchise that has sold more than forty million games worldwide and inspired multiple New York Times best-selling novels, live-action shorts, comic books, action figures and apparel.

Of course, near-every videogames stockist will offer pre-order incentives for Halo 4, many of which won’t be revealed closer to launch. Retailers such as GAME and gamestation are already presenting the opportunity to pre-order Halo 4, but don’t currently offer any incentive beyond guaranteed stock on the day of release. Less specialist retailers such as Amazon, Play and HMV are presenting simply price promotions, £39.90 at the former and £44.99 at the latter two retailers respectively, but once again have the opportunity to pre-order the videogame available as of now.

Halo 4 will launch worldwide on 6th November 2012, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Halo franchise.
