Following the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops II in the early hours of this morning retailers throughout the globe have begun positioning their pre-order initiatives. Here in the UK, retailers currently seem content to compete on price and little else.
As is quickly becoming tradition, supermarket ASDA were first out the door with their mailout this morning, promoting a price of £42.97 GBP on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and £34.97 on for the PC retail package. Next in line were Play.com, who were slightly less competitive with a price of £44.99 on consoles and £39.99 on PC. The third major retailer to contact Electronic Theatre was Amazon, who are currently offering the lowest price, £42.68 on PlayStation 3, £42.90 on Xbox 360 and, rather oddly, £44.87 for the PC version.
Of course, these prices are very much subject to change. With the inevitable special edition packages yet to be announced and other pre-order incentives likely to be revealed further down the line, all major retailers will likely have something unique to offer Call of Duty fans. Call of Duty: Black Ops II will launch this November on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the videogame.
