Turn10: Forza Horizon is ‘Epic in Every Respect’

Electronic Theatre ImageForza Horizon is quickly approaching the starting grid, and developers Turn 10 Studios are keen to bring the franchise to a new audience. At a recent press event organised by publisher Microsoft Studios, representatives from Turn 10 Studios emphasised some of the most exciting aspects of Forza Horizon to any and everyone prepared to listen.

“We’re really proud of what we’ve produced,” enthuses Dan Greenawalt, Creative Director at Turn 10 Studios. “Forza Horizon breaks down the boundaries between ‘arcade’ and ‘simulation.’ It’s an action-racer, an all new expression of that Forza vision.”

Clearly committed to Forza as not just a videogame but a way of life, Greenawalt talks at considerable length about that which is commonly referred to as ‘car porn.’ The ability to paint cars with your own designs, take pictures and share or trade online returns as would be expected, but Forza Horizon offers far more in the way of social Electronic Theatre Imagefeatures too. In a similar fashion to Criterion Games’ Autolog, Forza Horizon will encourage competition between players both directly and indirectly through high score and time trial leaderboards.

Ralph Fulton, design director at Playground Games, was clearly more taken with the product aspect of Forza Horizon than its legacy in the world of car fanatics. “Forza Horizon is epic in every respect.” States Fulton boldly. “We’ll be supporting this game long after launch.”
