The critically acclaimed Dead or Alive 5 has today made its way to retail stores throughout the UK and other PAL territories. Arguably the most highly anticipated one-on-one beat-‘em-up title of the year, Dead or Alive 5 brings the series back into play after a six year absence.
Dead or Alive 5 aims to renovate the beat-‘em-up genre with new ideas carefully added to the series’ mainstay skill-based combat system. Combos, reversals and breaker moves are brought back into play alongside the all-new power blows and increasingly interactive arenas. Electronic Theatre has been hands-on with Dead or Alive 5 on many occasions throughout it’s development, stating in our most recent preview:
“A punch isn’t just a punch; it’s an opener for a series of blows, each of which in turn provide more combat options creating a branching combat system.”
Dead or Alive 5 is available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from today in both standard and collector’s editions of the videogame. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Dead or Alive 5, including an in-depth review coming soon.
