The developers at Bungie like to play games with their fans, and that’s no secret. However, it appears that the latest tease will reveal details on a project that most certainly is a covert operation.
The final moments of a recent podcast includes suggestive statements that some major news from the developer will be arriving this coming Monday – 14th July, 2008. Bungie’s Brian Jarrard, in a conversation with Luke Smith, comments: “Isn’t there something going on on July 14th or something like that?”
July 14th happens to precursor the start of E3 2008 with Microsoft’s Pre-E3 Press Conference. But what could this announcement be? It’s been rumoured that we may finally see Peter Jackson’s Halo project some time soon, but many believe that a mysterious avatar featuring a plunger could hint at Bungie’s future. Here at Electronic Theatre, we believe it may be something different altogether, and that the avatar in question is more likely related to recent light-hearted comments between Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Bungie executives referring to each’s production of the Halo and Super Mario universes.
